It's been a few months since we last posted a monthly update. We've not been sitting back though, we've been hard at work getting the new Webfactory Hub ready for customers to try and provide their feedback on.

Webfactory Hub beta launch

The big news, therefore, is the launch of the Webfactory Hub beta. This is an invitation beta meaning only those who are invited at this stage can use the hub. You can read in the Join the Webfactory Hub beta article.

There’s a lot new in the Hub and a lot we’ve improved. Here are some of the highlights:

General

  • A completely new design
  • Single login to all your products and services
  • Support for multiple user accounts with different levels of permissions
  • Keyboard shortcuts for quick navigation through the system
  • Support section with guides on how to use the Hub
  • Ability to update your payment details online
  • Full history of invoices and payments with pending invoices shown
  • Full detail on all your recurring payments

Welcome Pack

  • Reorganisation of the Welcome Pack sections
  • Clearer indication of what needs to be done when sections are marked as incomplete by your designer
  • Live searching of stock images rather than having to navigate to an external website to locate stock ids
  • Stages of the Welcome Pack broken down more logically to make completion easier

Website editor

  • New way to edit your page sections
  • Improved drag-to-reorder functionality (works better on touch devices)
  • Additional page section element types
  • New and improved table editor
  • New form editor
  • Reorganisation of settings to be more logically located

Ecommerce websites

  • New reports
  • Improved product management with live searching

New payment gateway and Direct Debits

Elsewhere we have been transitioning to a new payment gateway. This new gateway allows for more payment methods. Direct Debits have been requested for a long time and we are happy that we are now able to offer that as a payment method. You can manage your payment methods in the account section of your website editor or the Hub's account section.

Blog update

We've given the blog a bit of an upgrade to make it easier for us to post news and articles. It's also been given a bit more prominence with the addition of a link on the main website menu and a feed of our recent articles on the home page.
