Use an authenticator app for hub sign-ins

21st September 2026

You can now use an authenticator app as your preferred method for two-factor authentication in Hub.

How it worked before

When two-factor authentication was enabled for an account, customers normally received their verification code by email. An authenticator app could not be selected as a personal sign-in preference.

What has changed

Open your Hub profile, select Login & security and set up an authenticator app. You can scan the QR code or enter the setup key manually, then confirm the connection using a six-digit code.

Compatible apps include:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • 1Password

Once connected, you can choose the authenticator app as your preferred verification method. Email verification remains available as a fallback if you cannot use the app.

Your preference will be used when two-factor authentication is enabled for your Webfactory account.

Why this is better

Authenticator codes are generated directly on your device, so you do not need to wait for a verification email to arrive. It gives each team member more choice over how they verify their identity and can make secure sign-ins quicker and more convenient.
